“Unwrapping A Goldenrod Audrey”

- or -

 "I Can’t Believe It’s Not Better (Art)”

8 in. x 10 in. analog collage depicting a dramatically backlit Halloween flower-maiden Audrey Hepburn of paper cut-outs and acrylic paint (I wouldn’t know the first steps to generate AI imagery even if I wanted to) on spray-painted, silvery, canvas + marbled washi tape and Mod Podge

Caught Up

Stashing my rolling duffel away in the attic following two months out-of-town, I happened upon this piece from the end of my junior year at Georges Valley High School (June 1999, age sixteen)...

“Caught” - a painted cut-out on watercolor paper secured in place with sewing thread and tape, the image itself measuring 11 in. x 5 in., the entire rectangle of white mat-board being 20 in. x 11 1/2 in.

"Goldfinner"

— Because the sea’s sunken treasure
isn’t limited solely to gold doubloons!

10 in. x 10 in. hand-cut analog collage on square black canvas with enamel black latex paint, Mod Podge, and bronze & white striped washi tape side trim (Fourth of July Weekend 2025)

*Remnants of a liquid gold gown worn by Tyra Banks

"'Shroom For Moore"

A Shrine of the Tines (with Figure in Recline)

9 in.x 12 in. analog mixed-media surreal collage on spray-painted canvas with botanical catalog clippings and Mod Podge sealant
Please accept this tribute to summer’s bounty — and midcentury abstract sculpter Henry Moore’s “Reclining Figure” (1951), in lower center.

"A Lot To Swallow"

  - UPON ENTERING MEMORIAL DAY PICNIC SEASON 2025 -

11 in. x 14 in. surreal analog collage incorporating vintage cookbook imagery on a black canvas board sealed with glossy Mod Podge

To borrow from the Applebee’s commercial motto, we’re “eatin’ good in the slain bird hood”—?  Okay, that’s a stretch.  But I know those in the ornithologist circles, both professional and amateur, will at least appreciate the array here.
