“Lady Blodeuwedd and Her Owl”

10 in. x 10 in. mixed-media analog collage of magazine photos for subject/background with spray-painted, glitter-dusted edges on a square, black stretched canvas finished using Mod Podge sealant

In Welsh mythology, she is a goddess made from and representative of the Earth in full bloom; her name means “the appearance of flowers” and is further associated with owls, transformation, & adaptability.  Appropriately, this piece was conceived in the first week of Spring as our grounds bear change, revived.  As is typical for me at this time of year, I sense that I am (to some extent) similarly resuscitated.  I gladly celebrate this season!
