Closing Carnaval, or shrovetide, with an all-American patio party -- seen below in Charbroiled Charms. On Ash Wednesday, revelers wake to bellyaches and the call of Lent. This practice of feasting before a period of restriction, as observed by more devout Christians, is certainly reminiscent of a textbook eating disorder. But for now, we watch as Mardi Gras showers us in pancakes, patties, and pink Sno-Balls™ fresh from their cellophane glove. Pig-out, my friends -- for tomorrow you starve.*
